There were a few locals going about their business at the Lakefront as if nothing had happened at all. ;-) Actually, seeing brown pelicans around the Lakefront was encouraging and special to me. I lived in N.O. from 1969 - 1987 (ages 8 through 26) and never saw one there that I recall. They were reintroduced to Louisiana some years ago and are obviously doing well.
