Aside from incredible vistas, Fort Mountain features a mysterious 855-foot stone wall. This is part of what remains of it. Archaeolgists say it dates from before Columbus "discovered" America and theories abound about who built it. The most sensible one attributes the wall to Welsh settlers who arrived near what is now Mobile, Alabama around 1170 A.D.
